its the 31st, and we are sitting in O'Hare waiting on our connecting flight home.

Spent last night with Kate & Greg & Baby Jake last night at their home in Kenosha. Yes, it was cold there too.

But, we board at 6pm, for the flight home

Saul has been a great traveler.

Here is a video from Mike and Evvie's sayin prayers.

i broke my stupid earring. it is a simple gold hoop, with one end hammered flat and a hole in it. I bought it from a craft person in Austin when they used to hang out at 23rd and guadalupe, in 1984. last night the flat end broke. sure, 24 years, small gold hoop and all, but I liked it.

I have a second, but it has a twisted loop at the end, and it is a little bigger. I liked my tiny one. but oh well, everything breaks or dies. Entropy.

Tomorrow we get on an airplane, hopefully fly to wisconsin, with a fast, bolt-through-the-airport stopover in Dallas.

I just hope we make it to Milwaukee. and dont have to sleep in an airport. But, you can see status here!

well, I hope to write from wisconsin tomorrow night. where I will be cold, but fortified with anti freeze.

Well, I am back from the Desert. It was a ton of fun. I rode well, till my bike got tired, and needed a rest. I believe it's a powervalve or a crankcase seal. Will break into it after the new year.

I thought I could get over it

Being out in the sand, away from the cell and interweb was great.

Missing wife and kid was not so fun, BUT!

They were up in the snow having fun, so in the end, it was medicinal for everyone

Just had lunch with a great friend, wonderful to see her, she is always charming and happy and exuberant. Gotta spend more time with her. She realizes how amazing Tarzan is. :)

I'm giddy with excitement. Like a wee schoolgirl. You may remember, my "vacation" trip to Loretto, Mexico was canceled this year. We circled the airfield, then the pilot flew us back to LA, skeered of some tropical storm or something. an entire day flying, and ended up back home.

Well

TOMORROW I get to go to Jawbone Canyon, in the Mojave Desert, to ride dirtbikes with friends. Friday - Monday. Dirt and Friends. Whee.

the attendance is dropping daily, people cannot go, etc. but I am SO in. I need to sit around a campfire in the middle of the desert, telling stories at night about my manly antics during the day.

I need time in a place with dark skies at night, dirt and no cell phone/computers during the day.

I need a rest, and this will be it.

Sara & Saul are headed to Lake Tahoe with friends of hers, he will play in the snow some. She will take photos.

did I mention my excitement? There is something about roaring through desert canyons in deep sand at 75mph+, in your helmet, calm, relaxed, concentrating on the dirt ahead, and clearing all thoughts of work, stress, and daily grind out of the mind.

I had to go home early today.

Apparently, now I may be wrong on this, but,

Apparently, if you are really hungry, and scrounging through your desk drawers, and find a ‘cup-o-noodles’ of unknown age, and the top is maybe not exactly sealed? And when you pour hot water in it, it smells a little funky?

You probably should not eat 1/4 of the cup before realizing something is, indeed, very very wrong.....

So I am working from home, and drinking pepto bismol, water, and hoping I’m better by tomorrow, or don't worry mom, I will phone the doc.

It is not the first time I’ve food-poisoned myself, it won’t be the last time, but it is the first time ever with cup-o-noodles.

When I get back to office, I will clean out my desk, so I do not do that again!

if ONLY we had the room....

TwoDaLoo a toilet, built for two!

Who needs relationship counseling, when you can be THIS close.....

From Gizmodo - "It's too far away from April Fools' Day for this to be a joke, so we'll just tell it to you straight: The TwoDaLoo is called a "supertoilet," created to "save rocky marriages and the planet." Not fancy enough for you? Get it with a 7-inch LCD TV and an iPod docking station, so you won't have to look at each other while you pinch a loaf."

playing in our neighborhood park

last time on the swing, his hair got caught, and he wanted to prevent that

He will "hang like a monkey" on the bar over the small slide. and will also say "oh oh oh, ah ah ah" like a monkey. then giggle a lot.

the BIG slide generates a lot of static, but on saturday, he went down it by himself

ya know cardboard is fun. Ya know Saul does not like the Robot in THX movie trailers? Seriously, will scream and hide his eyes and cry and say "daddy daddy, make the robot go away" So I made him a cardboard Robot helmet, so he can BE a robot.

he's a cute robot
