Movember is Coming!

All year I reply and donate to many requests. Aids-walk, Team-in-Training, Breast Cancer Awareness, Girl Scout Cookies, Walk for Crohn’s disease, and the list goes on. Rarely do I ask for anything in return. I’ve earned a good spot in my life, and am happy to give when I can.

I am also lazy, and have no desire for walking, running, etc, or even fund raising.
So I am NOT asking you for money. I am asking you to participate.
http://mobro.co/cstatman If you want to drop a buck or five, that’s great. If not? That’s fine too.

Log on, register, grow a Mo. Support me, or anyone else. If you are a man? PLEASE go get screened. Make sure you are healthy.

My story:
July 2003, right after my 39th birthday, my left testicle hurt, badly, I had to see the doctor. I’d been pain and denial for almost a year, but WHO wants a doctor playing with their junk? If I had gone in a year early? I may have saved my testicle, and a lot of time sitting in a chair taking chemo. http://cstatman.blogspot.com/2003/08/friday-is-doctors-visit-and-i-can.html#links Eight years later, I have a wonderful son, a good life, and a survivor’s perspective. Screening, and awareness of men’s health issues could have made it all much different.

I’ll be shaving the evening of Oct 31st, to get a clean start on Movember. Please join me! Grow a Mo! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVUYItlSn7M And raise awareness about men’s cancers.

About Movember:
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo’s, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

On Movember 1st, guys register at Movember.com with a clean-shaven face. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.

Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.

At the end of the month, Mo Bros and Mo Sistas celebrate their gallantry and valor by either throwing their own Movember party or attending one of the infamous Gala Partés held around the world by Movember, for Movember.
