saving a comment about an auction for a HOnda ST-90

I'l l try to flesh it out with stories about sea turtles and sunburns later

in the mid 1980s? I rode a green ST90 from Austin, TX to Puerto Angel, MEX. it seemed like a fun idea. I was younger, more flexible, didn’t mind sleeping in a bag on the side of the road.

I’d stop at Tire Vulcas, repair shops, and hammer the links of the chain to tighten it back up. When I got to Mexico City, the Honda shop I stopped at had heard all about me coming from all the truckers. some crazy bolillo on a minibike speeding down the highway… They did tuneup, new tires, new chain/spare chain, let me sleep in the shop, took me out for dinner….and wouldn’t charge me for anything.

after 3 days on the beach in Mex, I sold it to a guy for the price of a bus ticket home.

Great bikes, truly a testament to Honda’s design AND function goals. Limited year manufacture.
