it is insanely windy in San Jose tonight.

Was also last night

I got home form work, and helped my neighbor Florence repair the latch on her gate. One less blanging, clanking noise.

But the wind is pushing right though every crack in the house. Pretty wild

Ben Franklin lived working with 13 virtues to improve. I am not this good, but like the idea:

1. Temperance: Eat not to dullness and drink not to elevation.

2. Silence: Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself. Avoid trifling conversation.

3. Order: Let all your things have their places. Let each part of your business have its time.

4. Resolution: Resolve to perform what you ought. Perform without fail what you resolve.

5. Frugality: Make no expense but to do good to others or yourself: i.e. Waste nothing.

6. Industry: Lose no time. Be always employed in something useful. Cut off all unnecessary actions.

7. Sincerity: Use no hurtful deceit. Think innocently and justly; and, if you speak, speak accordingly.

8. Justice: Wrong none, by doing injuries or omitting the benefits that are your duty.

9. Moderation: Avoid extremes. Forebear resenting injuries so much as you think they deserve.

10. Cleanliness: Tolerate no uncleanness in body, clothes or habitation.

11. Chastity: Rarely use venery but for health or offspring; Never to dullness, weakness, or the injury of your own or another's peace or reputation.

12. Tranquility: Be not disturbed at trifles, or at accidents common or unavoidable.

13. Humility: Imitate Jesus and Socrates.

so i look over this list, and think our president could learn from his past officeholders.....

When my paternal grandmother Manya died, the only item I wanted to inherit was her stove. I remember her cooking at this stove, it is my fondest memory. I will move this stove to any house I live in.

It has been undergoing a meticulous restoration since 1999, when I split with my ex-wife. Ed emailed to tell me it is done. (for those who will ask, $5500 to restore, a bargain for the comfort this memory brings me)

My plan is to drive to Austin in mid March, buy a small enclosed trailer, bring my stove (and a gun safe) back to San Jose, and remodel our kitchen to fit this stove. (I have no idea how much the remodel will cost)

Here's the pics.

Wow Charles, How did you get your dirtbike pants THAT filthy?

Well, Sara took her BMW F650 to Watsonville BMW Saturday morning, to have them diagnose & repair. So I had the day off.....

Antonio, Larissa and I went to Hollister Hills, for me to test out the new (used) KTM 300 I bought with the proceeds from the sale of my beloved ST1100 Touring bike.

The KTM weighs almost 100lbs less than my XR650. It is tiny, lightweight, very powerful.

First thing at Hollister, Antonio runs up the BIG hillclimb. Not to be left out, after riding the bike for no more than 2 minutes, I zip up the hillclimb after him. Front wheel floating, tons of power, I actually have to lean forward to keep it from flipping.

Then we rode around the upper section of the lower ranch. Out Harmony Gate, up to High Road, etc. nice trail rides. It hailed on us briefly on High Road, first time I have seen Hail in California.

I was faster than I have ever been. The bike handles wonderfully, even though the suspension has not yet been appropriately adjusted. ZOOM! Crazy fast. I am giggling and having great fun.

We PLAN to leave by 3:30, head home, get clean, and dinner with Sara at freinds place.

one quick loop in the Adobe section. down one road, and as my dad says "chalushes!" I am in a world of poop.

I won't go into the details, I will just say, I kickstarted the bike, rode 3 feet, fell down, kickstarted, rode 3 feet, fell down. It was so muddy, you could not stand.

I somehow made it up one trail, was headed to another, and got stuck in a wide, open, grassy field. And it was raining, making the adobe clay even slipperier. I'd ride a little, then fall and slide back to where I started. The bike tossed me off more times than I could count, till I ran out of gas.

Then it got dark

Then the wild pigs showed up

and I heard nothing, and had no matches. I abandoned my new-to-me covered in mud KTM 300 and walked to a trail.

Antonio had gone back to camp with Larissa, and sent the rangers looking for me. They found me at about 6:30 on quads, and got me to camp, cold, tired, wet, muddy, 7pm.

got home and showered, hot tub, movie, sleep.

Sunday morning we went to hollister, I explained where I left the bike. Off High Gate road, near the Adobe Trail intersection. They found it with a quad and trailer, and brought it back.

I was overjoyed. And have been trying to clean the mud off ever since.

the front wheel is not supposed to be THAT muddy!

who the heck buys this?

Girlfriend of man in ‘bizarre’ sex case charged

The Brownsville Herald

A 23-year-old woman who turned in her boyfriend now faces criminal charges of her own in what police called a “twist” to a “bizarre” case.

Police say the boyfriend videotaped himself having sex with a 9-year-old girl in one encounter and with a Pomeranian in another.

Jail records show that Claudia Rodriguez was booked as a material witness in the case Wednesday night but charged Thursday afternoon with failure to report the aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Rodriguez’s boyfriend, Jesus DeLeon, remains in custody under more than $1.2 million in bonds on charges of possession of child pornography, sexual performance of a child and two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Police are still investigating whether the 25-year-old man distributed the images over the Internet.

Brownsville Police Sgt. Jimmy Manrrique said DeLeon and Rodriguez each revealed that she knew about the sex tape for several days or weeks before she reported it on Saturday.

“It’s just another twist in a very bizarre story,” Manrrique said. “It’s beyond me why she wouldn’t immediately turn it over.”

Texas law requires anyone who witnesses a sexual assault of a child to help the child or report it to authorities immediately.

Rodriguez initially told police that DeLeon threatened her and her children, but Manrrique said later interviews revealed that did not occur. He said she did not turn in the tape of her own free will but had been compelled to do so by friends.

“I want to make it clear that we’re not punishing her for reporting it, but she should have reported it a lot earlier,” he said. “She shouldn’t have been compelled to do it.”

Rodriguez is expected to be arraigned this morning in a Brownsville Police Department courtroom

Under state law, failure to report a sexual assault of a child is Class A misdemeanor punishable up to one year in jail and/or a $4,000 fine.

it was FUN

bought Sara a digital camera for Valentines! She can take photos now, and not have to borrow and mess with mine.

A few weeks ago, I sold my Honda ST1100 motorcycle. Last night I picked up a 02 KTM300 dirt bike. it is almost 100lbs less than my XR650, and will be much more fun for dirt riding.

I fold my Tee Shirts in Half vertically, then in half horizontally, and I am done.

Sara uses the traditional 3rds fold, then half, leaving the front nice and tidy.

I cannot do this.

However, with help of the wiley frenchman, i have built this device, and can fold like a pro

Stretching is BAD! Nyah Nyah, I was correct!

AND! According to the University of Wisconsin, I am gaining weight because Sara is pregnant. Nope, wait, that would be true only if I were a monkey. MONKEY!

Viral Video of a VW Van, Vamoosing a Very Sweet Jump.

What is a Viral Video?

Well, the crappy videos everyone mails to each other. So you see a video of some skateboard kid missing a jump and slamming his satchel into a rail? It is hilarious. So you email it to 5 of your buddies. They email it to 5 of their buddies, etc....

Now marketing weasels have figured out, with TiVo, people can zap past the commercials. So they imbed ads into these videos. As the kid is slamming his family jewels into a park bench, you see he is wearing a "" tee shirt, Free Advertising......

There are many websites totally devoted to hosting and repeating these videos.

They spread like a virus.

Now you know what Viral Videos are.
