i'm just sayin?

I love me some muppets

I do not have the swine flu. I have allergies. they cause my nose to run, drip down my throat, and I cough a little. I do not have swine flu. But I do like bacon

I'm on my way to work today, it's gonna be a meetingful day, with lots of travel between buildings. Anyone who schedules a 12-1 meeting? SCREW YOU. I need lunch.

anyhow, I am putting on my gear, gonna take the bike. And the moment I get my helmet on, the phone rings. It's Evie. Am I okay? Sure I am okay.

OH, someone crashed a motorcycle on Hwy 87 this morning. Well, wasnt me, and I did not see anyone down on my uneventful ride in.

Saul has a little Pinkeye, but he is taking drops and getting over it. Some kids get lots of ear infections. Ours gets pink eye. I am okay with that. Except the Not in School thing.

Every other week is a meeting-filled, less than super, but still okay week for me. UNfortunately, he gets pink eye on a meeting week, so I cannot work from home and take care of him. Sara is having to pick that up.

She did make a great dinner last night

Oh, and? the broken washing machine? Orange sock stuck in the pump. $80 later? works like a champ.

The dog door in the back garage door was falling out. Fixed

The garage wash sink was clogged - Fixed!

it was a productive afternoon yesterday. Saul helped some.

mom says NO

Mom says THIS is the recipe

WHERE did you get that odd recipe for Chicken Soup? Thyme? Who puts thyme in Chicken soup?
Here is grandma's recipe for chicken soup

Mom’s Chicken Soup

A 3-lb chicken, cut up
1/2 lb chuck roast
3 carrots, scraped and sliced
1 parsip, scraped and sliced
3 stalks celery ,cut into 1 inch slices
1 onion, sliced
1 tbsp dried parsley OR a handful, maybe 12 sprigs of fresh parsley, minced
1/2 tbsp dill powder or dill flakes OR a handful of fresh dill
6 or 7 garlic pods OR 1/2 Tbsp garlic powder

Place all ingredients in a very large pot. Add water to cover. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 4-6 hours, adding water as necessary. Skim off the film that rises to the top.

This is good with matzo balls or with noodles.
To add noodles, boil Manischewitz thin noodles as directed on the package and add them to the soup when you are ready to serve it.

Add salt and pepper at the table.

I think I know the cure for swine flu

Steal one medium chicken
2 large carrots, washed, unpeeled, broken into coarse pieces
1 large onion, peeled, cut into quarters
2 celery stalks, cut into quarters
1 medium parsnip, washed, unpeeled, cut into three pieces (or parsley root)
6-8 sprigs fresh Italian parsley, whole
4 sprigs fresh thyme, whole or 2 tsp dry thyme
1 Tbsp salt
1 1/2 tsp whole black peppercorn

Place all ingredients in a large stock pot and add water to cover
Bring water to boil but watch the pot so water never comes to rolling boil
(to avoid clouding the soup).
Cover pot and let simmer for 4 hours.

Remove from heat, strain most of the chicken parts (for sammiches) vegetables
Strain the liquid through a fine strainer
salt to your taste.

in Texas, making big fun with grandparents.

showing off his new boots, while playing badminton and playing with bubbles

i got TWO new pair bifocals at EyeMart Express, so cool

We went shopping at Academy, I wish was in San Jose, and bought tons new clothes for mom and dad.

Grandfather and I ate at Bodacious BBQ with TJ Campbell. I would kill someone if it brought Bodacious to San Jose.

went to Cavender's Boot City, and got Saul the coolest looking kid boots.

Sandi and a long stream of friends have come to visit. Sandi had the great idea to drive around and take pix of all the "jesus sez" etc, signs all over the place. there are 3 churches per block here, and they all have cool signs, however? not enough time. been mostly, well, eating and visiting people

Just had Chik-Fil-A for lunch. again, wish was in SJ

We are sleeping in my kid brother's room, which is like, a shrine, tons his stuff. the dressers still have clothes from junior high. So I got on the ball, and cleaned out the closet in my room. 3 garbage bags of junk, and shipped one large rubbermaid box of games and toys home.

I hope to stop at Academy one more time before we head to dallas, they have a TWO holster belt with guns, just like the Brave Cowboy book he reads at night.

i got this jazzy phone from work, and i can't really take good photos with it, oh well.

so? Friday night my pal Phil got married. He and his girlfriend entered a radio station contest to win a "wedding in a week" we all voted for them, they won, they had one week, then they got married. It was quite nice. At Viansa Winery in Sonoma,

great view

beautiful couple

odd sculpture

great dinner

then saturday was all running and doing. and a blur

Sunday morning, I rode with Antonio at Metcalf. We rode long, and pretty fast, it was fun. Rode all the sharp, windy, difficult trails, and wore ourselves out.

tonight had spaghetti, and cut up some roast beef for Saul to eat with toothpick, which he dutifully did and did well.

Passover on Wednesday
