in an odd turn of events.
mystery guy was actually Company 1!
job is done, looks great, AND I can recommend them if needed

Feb 22 2023 - a crazy day indeed
so yesterday and today were odd.
A few days ago, this is what my yard looked like:

Yesterday, we had a horrific windstorm. I was smart enough to take down the shade sail. Penny went to Sara's with Saul, as she does every other week. But back to the wind. EPIC wind. 60+MPH if the weather service is to be believed.
and my freakin fence blew down. All the 4x4s were pretty rotten at the base. and done.
Lets face it, the old fence had kinda been falling down since it was built. - nice concept, artistic.
It looked like it was tired, and decided to take a nap.

not good for keeping Penny in the yard, also I dont like the napping fence look.
SO! I got on the interwebs, and asked for advice.
I was given TWO really good leads. Lets call them "company 1" and "company 2"

I texted with Company 1 on Tuesday night. they said a guy would be out Wednesday morning between 9:30 and 10 to look and give me a quote. They did not arrive, and after 10:30, I realized there is a lot of texting and no action.
then a guy arrived, I thought he was company 2.
- he gave quote, I gave him downpayment to do work. He left
THEN...... Company 2 arrived. I was very confused. I thought the guy who had just been here already WAS Company 2. - nope... Company 2 was super nice, explained, gave quote. then left
Now? I am trying to figure out if the middle guy was just some scammer?
and I have to go to work. My anxiety is pegging the limiter...
I will know more when I get home from work, if anything happened in my backyard or not.
If nothing? I got scammed, somehow. and will call real company #2 to get started
its all very confusing. and I know the tinnitus/deaf is part of it - i need to pay more attention to what people are saying
So at 2pm, the Arlo camera starts dinging.
the Guy, neither Company 1, nor Company 2, has arrived in a truck with 2 other guys.
they unload, and remove the old fence - neatly
they remove the old posts AND concrete
they remove the tree stump that was in the corner, causing old fence to be built at an angle
they set new posts in concrete.
About this time, I get home from work.
they are doing GREAT JOB. Just as we discussed, nice, simple fence. nothing fancy, sturdy and strong.
the 3 guys are chainsmoking and talking in maybe Russian?
i asked if i could bring them beer or anything .. no thank you -- energy drinks please

they loaded everything BUT the fence material in the truck at 5, cause they want to let the concrete set.

I am just thrilled i did not get scammed, the guy I do not know is doing great work, and hopefully they will finish tomorrow, I will have a fence, and Penny will be contained when she is here.
I'll try to get his name, and maybe a phone number, ya know, in case someone else needs some good work done! :)
