he was very grumpy, sat and watched tee vee with Sara last night, and I DID manage to get his drugs into him.
this morning, same act
UNTIL! we got to Sinai, when he straightened up, was happy, hugged his teachers, smooched me goodbye, and sat on the orange spot for circle time!
i reminded him -
Mommy will come pick you up at....
I KNOW Daddy, at 2:30. bye!
i understand this will be normal as he gets older, but it was the first time I was in the way, and he was happy,... so I went to work
:)

Afternoon Update from Sara
Saul was not comfortable this morning. We did take a long shower and that seemed to help a little but he still didn't want to talk and was lethargic. I finally got him to drink a smoothie that i made from sherbet and yogurt - we watched some real inane kids' programing on PBS.
It took a couple hours but gradually he started to get livelier, until he was pushing cars and trucks around the floor and singing, shouting and talking to himself quite loudly. That's what he's doing now at 3PM. Oh, he just got into one of the kitchen drawers and is strewing things about the floor - i guess he IS feeling better, up to his old tricks.
Hopefully the healing trend will continue but we have to expect some low-points along the way.

Saul Update from Sara:
We slept til 9:30. Saul is not doing so hot, i think his throat is very sore. I tried to get him to eat this morning and he took a couple tiny mouthfuls of choco pudding then said, no, thank you. He is skittish about even opening his mouth very wide. I did get him to take some sips of water through a straw and also got tylenol and the antibiotic down.
He's very subdued, last night was rough. He was breathing hard all night and probably didn't sleep well at all. He's watching Peter Pan right now, and we are going to try to take a shower later - hopefully it will loosen up any discharge that may be causing blockage.
We are going to lay low today

He is out of surgery headed to recovery, we will see him in about 15 mins. the doctor told us the tonsils were about the size of STRAWBERRIES, think 3 berries, - 2 tonsils 1 for Adenoids. He will be sore and unhappy, but should be able to breathe MUCH better. thank you all for good thoughts and wishes more later

tomorrow, Wednesday, Saul will have his tonsils and adenoids removed at Stanford Childrens Hospital at about 8:30am (PST)
it should help his swallowing, breathing and sleeping.
we thought long and hard about this, and it is definitely the right thing to do.
he is sleeping and looking very cute right now.
here is a joke:
I went to the corvair club meeting, I am looking for a wagon to replace my van - maybe
good news, a guy in the club has a running 62 Lakewood wagon
bad news, he has alzheimers, and does not know where he has it stored.
seriously. ARGH

Chris was visiting, and took some amazing photos.
Here are some of my faves
The Brave Cowboy stood tall and straight. He wore his cowboy hat, his boots, and his two holster belt...

and liked to eat sushi

his dad at tacos

clowning around on the enfield

this ridiculously cool Triumph Street Tracker at Ken's shop. Yes, Lust.
