Mom says THIS is the recipe

WHERE did you get that odd recipe for Chicken Soup? Thyme? Who puts thyme in Chicken soup?
Here is grandma's recipe for chicken soup

Mom’s Chicken Soup

A 3-lb chicken, cut up
1/2 lb chuck roast
3 carrots, scraped and sliced
1 parsip, scraped and sliced
3 stalks celery ,cut into 1 inch slices
1 onion, sliced
1 tbsp dried parsley OR a handful, maybe 12 sprigs of fresh parsley, minced
1/2 tbsp dill powder or dill flakes OR a handful of fresh dill
6 or 7 garlic pods OR 1/2 Tbsp garlic powder

Place all ingredients in a very large pot. Add water to cover. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 4-6 hours, adding water as necessary. Skim off the film that rises to the top.

This is good with matzo balls or with noodles.
To add noodles, boil Manischewitz thin noodles as directed on the package and add them to the soup when you are ready to serve it.

Add salt and pepper at the table.

Who on G-D's green, ozone depleted earth would put chuck roast near MUCH LESS IN Chicken Soup !!!!
