forgot to mention, 2 nights ago, OMJ's Spanish Rice!

Subject: Spanish rice from OMJ (courtesy Cynthia)

Ingredients:
1 10-oz package RM Quigg's yellow rice mix
(yes, you can use any yellow rice, but this is yummy)

1 medium onion coarsely chopped

1 medium bell pepper, seeded and diced
1 pound ground round (we used 1lb shrimp for Sara's veggieness)

1 10 oz. can RoTel original chunky tomatoes with green chilis
1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
ΒΌ stick butter
salt and pepper

In large pammed (or buttered) pot with good heat transfer (8-qt or 6-st) sear meat until gray (break up chunks). Salt and pepper to taste (I like lots of pepper).

Drain juice from 2 tomato cans into measuring cup and add water to achieve amount of liquid on rice package (4 cups for 10 ounce package).

Add liquid, RoTel tomatoes, onion, green pepper, and 1 tsp salt to meat in pot, bring to boil and simmer about 30 minutes.

Add diced tomatoes & butter, bring to boil and stir in rice mix, bring back to boil for 1 minute, reduce to very low heat, cover, and simmer for 20 - 25 minutes, stirring once.

Serve.

Clean up

Well, i've been keeping as quiet as I can for 3 months, and now that my folks know, I can tell everyone else.

Jessie on Tour?

I do not know what to say, this is better than a Safari Bar Mitzvah. She even has a video?

I had no idea what it takes to be competitive on the 13 yr old circuit nowadays.

Word!

ya know how I have not posted in a while?

sadly, it is because I have been too busy! work work work

Stop and ride dirtbikes! YAY dirtbikes. Yep, that's me, about to be pushing Sara's 125 to the van, and taking my mighty mighty XR650R out to ride.

Note 1980's bright pink chest protector! Yes, I am a fashion plate.

So, the XR is a big heavy bike. I mean BIG. I have a guy coming to look at my ST1100 touring bike today, if he buys it, I will put that money toward a smaller, lighter dirt bike, so I can ride more, wrestle less.

The XR is perfect for flyin across the Baja desert. It is more difficult for all the goat trails at Hollister.

Ooops, I am late, more later

I spent all day helping my pal Ken Armann reorganize his shop. We need to empty the office area, to rebuild it into a lounge for his wife Cindy. She had some brain issues, and is recovering, but needs constant attention.

So, many of his pals have been trying to re-work the shop

I am soo tired. lifting heavy brit bike parts all day. definite workout

Then I come home, and find insane Japanese videos.

Wrestler in red panties dancin around with a harem of insane girls

Japanese girl in Meat Hat fending off Lizards

Japanese girls attacking giant black man.

Japanese girl in Seal hat, taunting polar bears

Sara, you know, sleeps with a stuffed baby harp seal toy. Scuffy. Her dad bought Scuffy one one of their visits out here, at the monterrey aquarium. I often wake up with scuffy jammed up my nostril. Do not wear the seal hat, it looks just like Sara's stuffed animal.

I think it is time to sell the Honda ST1100. So I put an ad on Craigslist. Will see what happens.

time to sell the sport touring bike. I need something small and light for in the dirt.

Boom!

Someone pestered me today about being concerned for safety. That's what triggered this.

i like things that go "bang".

Few years ago, i was confined to bed for a few months and in my confinement I could read. that's about it. Read. Well, and barf. So Read I did. Verne, Kipling, Wells, etc. Books written as "Adventures for Boys"

These were written at a level I doubt many teens today could keep up with.

My point being, we have "dumbed down" our society in a ridiculous quest for "safety"

Guess what? Everyone Dies. No one gets of this ride alive. There is risk in life. With risk come rewards.

As we work harder and harder to make life "safe" for our kids, we are choking off creativity and learning.

Kids should blow things up. Make stuff go BOOM! Learn what does and does not work. Adults can point at the stove, repeating "don't touch, HOT!" one hundred times over. The first time a kid burns the fingertips, they comprehend hot.

We should let kids play with BB guns, Firecrackers, Chemistry Sets and pointy scissors. Safety is a cover-up for control and building a society of sedate, drugged, non-creative blobs.

Give that kid down the street some white phosphorus, he may cure a disease in the future.

But let him sit and play video games all day, and he may? what? become a good consumer? Go to the Mall, live a safe life, and help contribute to the decline of our society!

Make things go boom NOW!

BOOM

The South Africans have THE WAY to keep your car secure...

I SOOO want one of these. How can we mount it on a motorcycle???

Far be it for me to lead anyone down the path of mayhem. (disclaimer: I AM an original member of the Austin, Texas "Torque & Recoil Club")

1982

Steve Levine was sitting in my dorm room, listening to me calling about a broken skateboard part. I was telling the girl form the skateboard company where I was from, and I moved to Austin, and I liked their skateboard parts, and when I bought it, etc. etc...

Steve said "Charles, shut up, they don't want to hear any of that crap. Tell them the part broke, you want a new one, when will they send it"

And a little lightbulb went off over my head.

People do not want to sift for information. They want you to quickly tell them what they need to know.

The better you do this, the better the reaction. People basically WANT to help others. If you make it easy for them, they will.

While not always successful, I try to be as brief, to the point, and information focused as possible. This works very well in a business setting.

Sadly, it sucks when Sara wants to talk with me. about things, you know, things, and stuff. I have spent so long training myself to be information intensive, in short statements, that I have blown the "small talk - chat" factor. I try to work on this at home.

sandacoyle@clearchannel.com

Dear Ms. Coyle,

I hopped in the car to drive to work this morning, and guess what surprise I recieved for New Years? One more Spanish Radio channel in San Jose, CA.

104.9? History, Dust, Crickets and Tumbleweeds.

I know Clear Channel has a huge responsibility to corporate shareholders to provide one and only one thing. Profit.

And I know the "alternative" crowd in San Jose/Silicon Valley may not be one of the juiciest markets. Cut enough of the non-juicy markets out, and you'll have us all on sattelite radio or Ipod.

Please don't bother sending a 'canned' reply. Don't need it, don't want it, just another indication ya'll don't care.

Best of luck with one more Spanish station. I'll be tuning out.

once again, maddox is correct. Sponsor a Vegetarian!

Robert Kennedy, I will eat 3x normal Meat, to support your vegetarian habits.
